Hardin Solar II Energy Center
The Hardin Solar II Energy Center is a 170 megawatt (MW) solar development previously approved for construction by the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) and located in Hardin County, OH. The project received a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need from the OPSB on May 16, 2019. Construction of the project is expected to begin in Q2 2021, and commercial operations is expected in Q2 2023.
As the second phase of the Hardin Solar Energy Center, this project represents Invenergy’s commitment to investment and community partnership in Hardin County.
Certificate Amendment
Hardin Solar Energy II LLC is currently seeking to amend the project boundary previously approved in the Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need (CPCN) issued on May 16, 2019 by the OPSB. The modification of the project boundary will be accomplished via an amendment to the OPSB Certificate. Hardin Solar Energy II LLC expects to file the amendment with the OPSB in July 2020.
Public Information Meeting
In order to inform the community about the planned amendment filing, Hardin Solar Energy II LLC will host a public information meeting in Hardin County. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this public information meeting will include a virtual component as well as an in-person component.
During the public information meeting, representatives of Hardin Solar Energy II LLC will be available to answer questions about the proposed amendment filing. See below for details regarding the in-person and virtual meeting components.
Up to $1.53 million annual investment via Invenergy’s payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) agreement with Hardin County.
At peak construction, the Hardin Solar II Energy Center is expected to employ up to 300 people. Once operational, the project will employ 2-3 permanent operations and maintenance (O&M) staff.
